Between Feb 2020 and Feb 2021, Microsoft provided users of paid commercial customers with the ability to initiate 12-month Teams trials. In June 2022 Microsoft expired these trials.
What now?
In order to keep using Teams with same capabilities an upgrade to Microsoft Teams license is needed. There are few ways to upgrade from a Microsoft Teams Exploratory trial to a paid Microsoft Teams license:
Buy Microsoft Teams Essentials
Use this option if your organization has no subscriptions to other Office products that include Teams, and do not plan to use other Microsoft online offers. For more information, see Upgrade to a different business plan.

Microsoft 365 Business Basic
Best for businesses that need easy remote solutions, with Microsoft Teams, mailbox, calendar, secure cloud storage, and Office Online (desktop versions not included).
Microsoft 365 Business Standard
Best for businesses that need full remote work and collaboration tools including Microsoft Teams, secure cloud storage, business email, and premium Office applications across devices
Microsoft 365 Business Premium
Best for businesses that require secure, remote work solutions with everything included in Business Standard, plus advanced cyberthreat protection and device management.
Add users to an existing Microsoft 365 offer subscription that has Teams
Use this option if your organization doesn’t have enough paid Teams licenses to cover the Teams Exploratory users. For more information, see Buy or remove licenses. To add users to an existing subscription that already has enough available licenses, see Move users to a different subscription. To see active users for an existing subscription, go to Users > Active users in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Buy a new Microsoft 365 subscription.
Use this option if your organization doesn’t have any existing subscriptions to Office products, or if your organization wants to buy a subscription that’s different from their existing subscription to cover Teams Exploratory users.
